For some reason, NHRA decided to change the name of the National Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green Kentucky a couple years ago and now it is called the Wall Parks Nostalgia Nationals. In California, where the California Hot Rod Reunion has been a huge race and event for decades, we streamed years and years of racing and how action. We also did the same at Beech Bend, but haven’t been in a few years now. So when our friend Tommy Lee Byrd posted up some video from this great event, we were thrilled. And it does not disappoint. Check out all these cool rides!

Video Description:

The Wally Parks Nostalgia Nationals (previously known as the Hot Rod Reunion) is a great place to see historic drag cars, hot rods and wild creations. It’s always held on Father’s Day weekend and my dad and I love to go. While the event has diminished drastically since we first started going in 2008, it’s still one of the greatest collections of nostalgia drag cars East of the Mississippi. We were only there for a day, but let’s take a walk through and see some of the things that caught my attention.

Chad Ehrlich is back with more cool vintage iron! This 1968 Dart is something special and has been in dry storage for years. If you have always wanted a 1968 Hemi Dart, or you want to build a rad Mopar drag and drive machine, then this one right here might be the perfect start. It has no engine and trans, but it does have a factory 8 3/4 rearend in it. I think this thing would be rad with either an OG Hemi in it or a late model Gen 3 HEMI under the hood. Either way it would be awesome because these Darts are such a great Mopar muscle car platform.

Video Production:

We just recently pulled this little Dart Hardtop out of the storage unit where it has spent the last several years hiding in dry storage!! This little Dart has tons of potential! It would make a cool Hemi Dart Clone, race car, Drag-N-Drive car, or just a nice, solid, restoration project!!!!!

This car is a roller, the motor and trans are gone. It does have an 8 3/4 rear end under it. The interior is still all pretty much intact and it isn’t in terrible shape considering its age, but, like I said, this car has been stashed away inside for the last several years!!!!

The body looks really good for its age. The rust is minimal and this car would make a killer project. Even most of the original trim is even still there!!!! Let’s go wander around this one and check it out!!!

What would you do with this solid little Dart Project?!?!?!?!?!?

If you like old cars, trucks, and automobilia, be sure to check out all of my other videos! Please subscribe so you can keep up with the new videos as I post them! If you have questions about vehicles or parts, the only way to get a hold of me is to call me, 8 AM-8 PM CST, no texts, no e-mails, no messenger, no smoke signals, calls only.

If I don’t answer, I’m probably on the phone with someone else and if you don’t leave me a message, I just assume you’re another telemarketer trying to sell me an extended warranty! LOL! If you comment, message, text, e-mail, etc., don’t expect me to find it and don’t expect an answer. Thanks for watching, Chad 620-786-4428

Dylan McCool is back at it with his long forgotten 1971 Plymouth Roadrunner. This bad boy needs to come back to life and Dylan is working to make that happen. Cars like this one are so cool to find and come with great stories and history which we love. Not only are the stories you are told about a ride often a great glimpse into their history, but so are the ones that you figure out by taking them apart and working to get them back up and running. You can learn a lot about a car by what is hidden under the seats, receipts in the glovebox and repairs that have been made. It’s cool. Check it out below and let us know what you think.

Video Description:

The Roadrunner is one of the most iconic muscle cars of all time. And somehow I managed to find an incredibly clean and complete example. This 1971 Plymouth came from the factory with a 383 HP, 727 HD transmission, green paint, and green interior. We dive into this time capsule and uncover all the secrets it holds, including figuring out: will it run?

It’s been a long time coming after this car tried to kill him, and itself, but the StanceWorks Model A Ford is back up and running and finally ready for some street testing before it goes to a new home.

If you aren’t familiar with the Stanceworks 1931 Ford Model A, you should be. This little bastard is epic and yet there is something about it that makes you wonder if it is going to put the biggest grin on your face or kill you, because either one is possible with this thing. If you missed it, this thing has had some seriously needed repairs and epic fabrication. You’ll get to taste it all in this video, so watch and let us know what you think.

Watch and see if you can tell just how nuts this thing is. I’ve driven plenty of cars making well over 1,000 horsepower, on the street, but none of them weighed as little as this little bastard here. I’m sure it’s a nasty ride, but a part of me sure wants to try it out!

Video Description:

It’s been a long time coming, but I am so stoked to have the Model A back on the road. 2.5 years in the making… and yeah, I’m still scared of it.

Our friend Steve Magnante has been out of commission for a while as he has literally been fighting for his life from a bad brain infection, but he’s back! You may know Steve from all his years in the magazine world where he wrote for a ton of great magazines like Hot Rod and Car Craft, but in recent years he’s been the rain man of muscle car and classics knowledge on Barrett-Jackson’s TV auction shows. He’s also been making great YouTube content of his own, walking through junkyards full of great finds and sharing all the info on cool old rides. But at the end of last year we weren’t sure he was going to make it.

I first met Steve more than 20 years ago on Hot Rod Power Tour and was lucky enough to work with him a few times over the years. He’s a real treasure, one hell of a guy, and I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to be sharing these videos with you now.

Thankfully, he had great doctors who didn’t give up on him even after putting him into a coma to try and fight this brain infection. To be honest, there were lots of folks who have known him for years who were not sure he’d pull through. I’m so thrilled to say that he is in fact on the mend and working at getting back to his normal self. Unfortunately there are huge medical expenses, and side effects from his condition, that are making it necessary for him to get rid of some of his collection and more. I wish I could snap my fingers and make Steve the guy that doesn’t have to worry about money or help, but that’s just not in the cards at the moment.

So in the video below he’s talking about the Funny Fairmont, an altered wheelbase Fox Body Fairmont he built years ago, that is now for sale and can be yours!

Video Description:

Thanks for watching – Steve Magnante.

John is back at it, hitting more cool shows and grabbing all kinds of cool rides in the process. This week it’s the Goodguys BASF Nationals from Nashville Superspeedway. This is a cool race track, and makes for a great backdrop for a Goodguys Show. And as you would expect from a Goodguys show, there were muscle cars, trucks, customs, hot rods, and everything in between. These shows have some of the best variety you are going to find anywhere and thanks to John Jackson at NotStock Photo, you get to see them all.

The first video below is going to be all the cars and trucks and cool stuff rolling through the gates on Saturday. The second video is going to be the Goodguys Hot Rod of the Year competition, and if you want to see who got the nod to be one of the finalists, and who took home the award, you are going to want to check it out.

Neither Rain nor heat nor gloom of Night will stop GoodGuys from hosting the Hotrod of the Year competition haha Seriously though when you watch this video you will see why this show is always in my top 5 events of the Year. Special thanks to the guys from Adams Hotrods for Letting me bum around with them, and putting up with my goofy laugh. Nashville was so much fun I have two videos for you this year so make sure you check out the show car only video as well. As always thanks for taking the time to watch.

There are very, very, few original rare muscle cars that I would care about owning. A COPO 9561 or 9560 1969 Camaro would be awesome, but I’m still totally good with a clone. I’m not likely to want something totally stock anyway, so why not just build something that feels like it but that I don’t have to worry about and couldn’t afford anyway? But there are obviously lots of folks out there that care about how rare or special their car is/was originally. Steve Magnante is an expert on original, and is like the Rain Man of car facts. I love him for it, and he’s been this way for decades, so when he throws up a video about a Plymouth Superbird and is going to tell us whether this thing is the real deal or a clone, I’m listening.

I’m a Chevrolet guy, but anyone that doesn’t like a winged Mopar is a weirdo in my book. I like a Road Runner anyway, but a Superbird is something special. These cars are cool as hell, have amazing history, and I’ve had the privilege of being around quite a few of them.

Check out the video and let us know what you think.

One of the most important elements of modern auto-making is the ability for a company to use their entire toolbox in the creation and execution of a vehicle. This doesn’t simply mean slapping a different brand’s badge on the same car or truck, but within product lines being able to use the parts bin for different models to supplement others. Nowhere does this happen with ore regularity than on the truck side of things and we’re happy to say that perhaps the best single example of a rig that has the best of everything rolled into one is the 2024 Ram 2500 Rebel Heavy Duty you see here. We spent a week with this monster and between the Cummins power, the aggressive Rebel look and nice interior, and the large number of Power Wagon parts underpinning this thing, there wasn’t much to take umbrage with. But as always, we’ll try.

Let’s start with an important point. This is a 2500 series truck, meaning it’s 3/4-ton job in the normal truck language. This means that you will not have the supple and smooth ride quality of the 1500 series half-ton with Ram’s great air suspension. You are going to know that you are in a 3/4-ton truck rolling up on great looking wheels and 33″ tires. If serenity of ride quality is one of your largest concerns when truck shopping, we’d recommend skipping anything above a half ton. If you want payload capacity, towing capacity, the look and feel of a larger truck, and absolutely zero concerns about not having enough power, the Rebel 2500 Heavy Duty with the 6.7L Cummins is the right place for you.

If we start from the bottom up there are a few great things to note about this truck. There’s a LOT of Power Wagon DNA living under here where it counts. From the Articulinks up front to the five link rear axle, the suspension is far more off road capable than the majority of buyers will ever need, but having and not needing is a whole lot better than needing an not having. The ride is not bone jarring, overly stiff, or unpleasant, but it does ride like a truck, which is something that increasing numbers of truck buyers seem to have a problem with. The steering weight and on-center accuracy were really good in this rig, even with the 33″ tires and all the weight of the big diesel up front. I’d take the ride of the Ram Rebel 2500 over the F-250 and place it very close to in concert, if not a little better than the GM offerings at this level of truck.

This Ram Rebel 2500 Heavy Duty is equipped with a bed that is six feet, four inches in length and as it carries the Ram Box option on each side, the payload area is narrowed up. This is an interesting trade off and one that may be an adjustment for shoppers who have never really given a close look to the Ram Box bed. Obviously this has been a successful option for Ram and it continues to be. For me? The usable space in the boxes far outweighs the loss in width for normal cargo stowage. The old “sheet of plywood” test which was a large benchmark for trucks for years doesn’t apply as much in this world of truck buying habits. These are not vehicles majority bought by contractors anymore. They are bought as family transportation and more. The Ram Box volume is larger than you’d expect if you have never seen one in person. LOTS of normal every day stuff can fit in these weatherproof compartments. You can still haul a load of mulch, loam, or sand home from the local material yard, just make sure the guy running the loader has it centered up properly!

If you have the money to spend, this is the only way to fly in the modern truck world. Diesel power is so good, so efficient, and honestly so well engineered these days that if you can pony up for it, these engines are the killer choice. In this truck the 6.7L Cummins makes 370hp and 850 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is a six speed automatic. The trick with diesels has always been to get as many gears behind them as humanly possible. Obviously the operating range is at far lower RPM than gasoline engines, so the more gears the better. I enjoyed the power, the responsiveness, and the smooth action of the transmission but as opposed to the competing options, this drivetrain felt a little long in the tooth. The reason? The competition has 10-speeds. Both GM and Ford use the 10-speed Allison transmission behind their diesels. This huge truck is not slow by any means but it sure does not attack the seat of the pants acceleration feels like the Ford and GM trucks with the 10-speeds do.

In a crew cab truck, size matters and we’re thinking that some of you reading this could experience a truck cab larger than your first home when you climb into this rig. The cab is literally enormous and it’s wonderfully quiet. Yes, you can hear some nice Cummins sounds when you flatten the pedal, but we want that. What you won’t here is wind noise, whistling, etc. The tires can sing a little but again, the cab is so well insulated that the noise is not at all unpleasant. The materials are nice, not over the top but you can tell they are durable and they present well. Trucks are obviously large ticket items, especially rigs like this with more serious engines and suspension options than a standard run of the mill half ton.

Up front there’s a lot happening and I think in a good way. The massive screen is the centerpiece of the whole operation and while many of you out there may shudder at the thought, there’s no putting the technology toothpaste back in the tube at this point. Screens are here, this one supplemented by plenty of physical buttons. The presence of the screen and the fact that it’s the first thing your eyes seek out keeps the interior property value up. Four wheel drive selections are made via dash buttons, the transmission is shifted with a good old column shifter, and the massive center console is both functional and proportional to the rest of the cab, which again, is the size of a small home.

The 2024 Ram Rebel 2500 Heavy Duty is, in my opinion as perfect a blend between a work and play truck as can exist in the 3/4-ton space. This truck would be fun with the 6.4L hemi engine but with the 6.7L Cummins, it has an entirely different level of burly personality. The truck is fun to drive, it is functional with its huge towing capacity, robust cargo capacity, and indestructible driveline from the engine on back (and forward).

The on-road presence of this truck hits different than some of the more “rebellious” models in the Dodge lineup. This is a well dressed brute that could just as easily rumble into the country club parking lot as it could the construction site on Monday morning. Hardcore without needing to apologize for itself, and a stout performer despite its transmission hamstring, this thing is BangShift approved up, down, and sideways.

If you are like me, you drool over all the cool toterhomes and trailers that we see in the pits at races all over the place. I mean these things are real money, huge, and have all the comforts of home and more. If I owned one, I’d have to rent out a room in it and mortgage it for 60 years in order to hope to afford it. With that said, I’d probably own one if I won the lotto. This one here is amazing! It is about as sexy as can be in all black and chrome and in this video we get a complete walk around and tour.

Every detail has been covered on this build, with nothing left alone. You really have to watch and listen to see everything that has been done to this one.

Chip Foose is well known for being the guy that reimagines cars and trucks into what some consider the best versions of themselves. He nips and tucks and stylizes the best attributes of a car or truck design to make the biggest visual impact, without taking away from what the car started out to be. With that said, he’s also all about making sure the heritage and character of a car are preserved whenever possible, and that has never been more apparent than with this awesome 1932 Ford Todor that he picked up recently.

This old Ford is a spectacular barn find that is in amazing shape and what he’s doing is more cleaning than anything else. But what is awesome is the kind of changes that some elbow grease and a little bit of barn find secret sauce can make to the overall look. We love it, and I have to say that if it was mine there are very few things I’d do to it before driving it as often as possible.
