Schools, airports, businesses and now public transport are beginning to shut down in Brisbane and across south-east Queensland, as Tropical Cyclone Alfred begins to make impact.
Bus operator Greyhound Australia has cancelled all of its bus services entering and exiting Brisbane, with no update as to when they will be reinstated.
All Greyhound services in South East Queensland will also remain cancelled this weekend for the safety of passengers, team members, and general public.

The operator announced that services will remain cancelled on Friday March 7 between Brisbane to Hervey Bay, Brisbane to Toowoomba, and Brisbane to Byron Bay.
All other Greyhound services will continue to operate as per current timetables, travelling to the north between Hervey Bay to Cairns, west between Toowoomba to Charleville to Mount Isa, and south between Byron Bay to Sydney.
“Greyhound Australia is closely monitoring Tropical Cyclone Alfred and updates from the state government in conjunction with the Bureau of Meteorology and emergency services,” a Greyhound statement reads.
“This decision does not come lightly, and we are aware this may impact people’s travel plans.
All passengers booked on affected services can choose to move their travel to a new date free of charge, urged to contact the Greyhound customer service team.
“Please be aware that as Tropical Cyclone Alfred moves closer to the coast and makes landfall, and its impacts are more clearly understood, we may be required to make further cancellations to our scheduled services,” the statement reads.
“We will endeavour to make further updates in a timely manner to ensure minimal disruption to travel plans and the continued safe carriage of our passengers and team, as well as the general public and other motorists and road users.”
The operator recommends passengers who are booked to travel within South East Queensland and Northern NSW continue to monitor their service information at greyhound.com.au
