The Victorian government has announced a bus service expansion in Melbourne’s western suburbs with the new route to connect Eynesbury and Weir Views to Melton Station.
Victorian public and active transport minister Gabrielle Williams has unveiled route 452, which will operate seven days a week and provide direct connection to Melton Station for the first time.
The service, beginning on Sunday December 8, will provide passengers greater access to trains and other bus services, as well as key destinations like Opalia Plaza Shopping Centre and Ballarat, while also running along Exford Road, which is close to a number of local schools including Staughton College.
“We are getting on delivering new bus services in Melbourne’s west which will keep the local community connected to schools, jobs and transport connections,” Williams says.

“Through Victoria’s Bus Plan we are delivering better coverage and service coordination and adding thousands more services across the state.”
On weekdays the new route will operate from 5am through to 10pm, with buses running every 15 to 30 minutes during busy periods, and up to 40 minutes at other times. On weekends the service will operate a 60-minute frequency from 6.30am to around 10pm.
Residents of Weir Views will benefit from having a fixed bus route option as well as the current FlexiRide service.
The new services are part of the state government’s election promise to deliver improvements to the school bus network in the west, with better services introduced for Aintree, Thornhill Park and Rockbank students.
Launched in June 2021, Victoria’s Bus Plan has already improved bus services in more than half of the state’s 79 local government areas through the introduction of more than 200 new or improved bus routes delivering better coverage and service coordination.
“We’re making sure residents in Eynesbury and Weir Views have easier access to public transport to connect them to jobs, school and services,” Member for Melton Steve McGhie says.
“We promised the community better public transport in the area and now we are delivering a brand new bus route to connect the local community.”
