The Adelaide facility will “offer a comprehensive range of services for both new and existing customers” according to Volgren, with the site to enable bus operators across the state to have access to high-quality local buses and ongoing fleet maintenance and support.

“We’re excited to establish a local base in South Australia, allowing us to deliver reliable, sustainable and innovative transport solutions while investing in the local community,” Thiago Deiro, Volgren CEO Thiago Deiro says. .

The new facility is expected to be fully operational by April, with recruitment efforts beginning soon.

Volgren has already played a key role in modernising South Australia’s public transport fleet, recently delivering five brand-new hybrid buses to the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) as part of its supply contract with Scania Australia.

An additional 10 units are currently in production and scheduled for delivery within the next two months. The 15 buses form the additional fleet requirements for the Adelaide Hills expansion services.

The company has also formalised agreements to provide further support services to DIT, including the delivery of bus driver security screens, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring the state’s bus fleet remains safe, reliable and future-ready.
