Nine drivers were awarded the honour, with Helen Richards, Silviu Iliescu, Gaurav Arora, Jianming Yang (Ray), Pierre Hanna, Harvinder Singh, Steven Hans Gunawan, Xiaomei Yang and Sam Tashman taking home the trophy.
“Safety is the cornerstone of everything we do at CDC NSW. These nine drivers exemplify the highest standards of professional driving and their unwavering commitment to passenger safety is truly commendable,” CDC NSW CEO David Mead says.
“Their achievement not only reflects their personal dedication but sets a benchmark for excellence across our entire operation.”
The event was attended by Transport for NSW (TfNSW) executive director David Callahan, who shared industry insights on bus safety statistics and gender diversity initiatives within the sector.
The event was also attended by TfNSW deputy secretary for safety, policy, environment and regulation Sally Webb, Matthew Café and representatives from NSW Police Highway Patrol, the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator, Office of Transport Safety Investigations and Transurban.
“Events like Bus Safety Week are crucial in highlighting the vital role our drivers play in keeping our communities moving safely,” Mead says.
“By recognising excellence in safety, we reinforce our commitment to maintaining high standards across our fleet and encourage our staff members to prioritise safety in everything they do.”
